Federal Government Declares Friday 1st as Public Holiday

To mark the birthday of Prophet Muhammed (SAW) in accordance with the Islamic calendar, the Federal Government has declared Friday, December 1st, 2017 as public holiday.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ganiyu Olatunji Olatunde urges the University community to use the occasion to thank the Almighty Allah for the continuous stability and peace the University has been enjoying since the inception of his administration.

He further enjoins staff and students to continue their supports for his administration and redouble their efforts at ensuring that the University enjoys an uninterrupted academic calendar. He added that the management will continue to make the welfare of staff and students its top priority.

However, the Vice-Chancellor has directed the temporary closure of the University to enable staff and students participate in activities to mark the day.

Staff on essential duties are expected to be at their duty posts while work resumes on Monday, 4th December, 2017 at 8.00am.

Professor Olatunde wishes the University community a happy Eid-El-Maulud celebration.
