Professor (Mrs.) Ebunoluwa Olufemi Oduwole

Professor (Mrs.) Ebunoluwa Olufemi Oduwole was unanimously elected by the University Senate as the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration of the University effective on Monday, 1st August, 2016.

Born on 10th September, 1962 in Ibadan, Professor (Mrs.) Ebunoluwa Olufemi Oduwole joined the services of the University on 17th October 1985 as Graduate Assistant and through dint of hard-work and commitment rose through the ranks to become a Professor in the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Arts in 2013.

Professor Mrs. Oduwole completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy from the University of Ibadan with a Second Class Upper Degree in November 1983. She had her Master Degree in Philosophy from the same University in September 1985 and bagged her Ph.D Degree in Philosophy in August 2002. The distinguished scholar also had an additional Master Degree in Bioethics from Universities in Leuven, Belgium, Nijmegen, Netherlands and University of Padova Italy in June 2012.

Oduwole has served the University in many capacities such as, Head, Department of Philosophy (July 2003 – August 2006), Business Manager, OYE:Ogun Journal of Arts (1988 – 2004), Member, Sub-Committee on Academic Ceremonies (2003 to date); Senate Representative on Joint Committee of Council and Senate on University Ventures (2005-2006), Chairperson, Students Disciplinary Committee OACHS/Ikenne (2009 to date) among several others.

Professor Oduwole is a member of many professional bodies that include Nigerian Philosophical Association, Society of Research on African Cultures, International Society for African Philosophy and Studies and Pan-African Gender and Peace Research Group

She has contributed to the advancement of knowledge with her numerous books, journal articles and publications in reputable local and international Journals. She has attended so many International and Local Conferences among which she was Lead presenter.

Interestingly, she was resuming as the Dean, Faculty of Arts on Monday, 1st August, 2016 but eventually got elected by the Senate to the exalted post of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor the same day.
