Chapel of Abundant Life Holds Special Convocation Service

The University Chapel of Abundant Life has held a Special Convocation Service in respect of the 27th Convocation Ceremony..

The service which was held at the religious area in the Main Campus, Ago-Iwoye witnessed the turnout of the University Principal Officers, staff and students.  The special church service took place on Sunday, 28th January, 2018.

In his sermon, entitled “The Building and Rebuilding Process of Israel” the University Chaplain, Professor very Reverend Tola Oduyale compared the Vice-Chancellor to the biblical king called Zerubabel who was the brain behind the rebuilding of Israel.  He urged everybody working in the University to support the Vice-Chancellor in the building process of making the University the best in Nigeria. He thanked God for the smooth transition of power from the immediate past Vice-Chancellor, Professor Saburi Adejimi Adesanya to the current Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ganiyu Olatunji Olatunde.

He advised the Vice-Chancellor to work with divine wisdom and always tread with caution whenever he makes decisions concerning the administration of the University.  He remarked that the Vice-Chancellor and the Principal Officers must not only rebuild the University but allow their diligence tally with their hands and heart desires.

Professor Tola Oduyale enjoined the Vice-Chancellor to carry everybody in the institution along in his decision making process.  He warned the Vice-Chancellor to be careful of enemies within the University who would present themselves as friends to him in the course of his administration.

He urged him to put round pegs in round hole in other to achieve success and rule the University with divine direction.

In his brief remark, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ganiyu Olatunde urged the Christian Community to pray fervently for the progress of his administration.  He promised that he would make sure his administration’s effort was felt by all sections of the University community.  He called on staff, most especially the Christians to contribute towards the development and construction of the University Chapel.

The Vice-Chancellor announced a personal donation of a hundred thousand naira (N100,000.00) towards the development of the Chapel.

During the service, prayers were offered for the University, Ogun State and Nigeria.

The highlights of the service were praise and worship session by the Chapel Choir.
